Jon Pearson

Jon Calderdale

Jon Pearson began a life-long love affair with yoga in 1983 at the age of 24. Over the last three decades, he has extensively researched and practised most forms of traditional and modern yoga under the guidance of leading exponents of the various fields. He gained the British Wheel of Yoga Teaching Diploma in 1992 and since then has gained extensive experience in teaching yoga throughout the UK and abroad, amalgamating insights gained from different schools into an integral vision of the yoga path which encompasses body, emotion, mind, soul and spirit.

He has held a meditation practice for 25 years, has completed approximately 20 yoga/Buddhist retreats and has been endorsed by Maarten Vermaase to teach various Buddhist meditation practices in the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. He founded the Calderdale Yoga Centre in Hebden Bridge in 2009 and runs it along the business principles of Karmic Management expounded by Geshe Michael Roach.

Jon is a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist (psychotherapy is a yoga practice by most definitions) with practices in Hebden Bridge and Manchester. He is currently writing a book exploring the relationship between yoga and psychotherapy.
