Amanda Latchmore is a British Wheel of Yoga trained teacher and a Somatic Movement Educator, based in Harrogate. She began practising Yoga in the early 1970s and has been teaching since 1997. Her style of teaching is influenced by several years practising Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, and more recently by intensive study with Donna Farhi. Amanda has integrated Donna’s Seven Moving Principles into her practice, resulting in embodiment of Donna’s clear methods for teaching alignment. In order to deepen her understanding of these aspects of Donna’s work, Amanda has also studied Integrative Bodywork and Movement Therapy – based on the principles of Body-Mind Centering®. As well as her British Wheel Teaching Diploma and Integrative Bodywork and Movement Education Diploma, she has Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Certification from both Donna Farhi and Erich Schiffmann.
Amanda’s main aims in teaching are for her students to become stronger in mind and body, more resilient to life’s ups and downs, more connected to their emotions and feelings, and more playful, joyful and creative.
